BEYOND ILLUSIONS OF PERFECTION
To have the spine damaged is only significant if we are a broken-backed old horse. Even as a broken-backed book our pages can still yield knowledge. The physical damage to the body caused by violence or an accident can only reduce us in strength or concentration if we allow our quality or purity to be affected. The same is true for trauma endured in childhood. We can never speak on a severe or trying experience however; to assume the ordeal cannot be seen by others, or doesn't continually reappear subconsciously in our life is wishful thinking. Although, damaged inanimate objects may have their value diminished, our humanly value is enhanced when we embrace and live our truths. We can choose to leave the wounded where they fell, or leave the wounds at the place we were wounded, harmed, or injured.
